07/01/10 - Graffiti Spring Clean for Hart
THE Safer Hart Partnership this week appealed to residents throughout the district to report any graffiti they come across to the Community Safety Team.
The Safer Hart Partnership is currently drawing up a programme for its sixth ‘Graffiti Busting Week’ to be held from March 29 to April 5.
Graffiti on private property is normally the responsibility of the landowner but during the special week the Community Safety team will remove it.
Organiser Richard Denham says the aims of the week are to encourage people to take as much pride as possible in where they live and to get rid of as much graffiti as possible. “Fortunately graffiti is not a big problem in Hart and this is partly because of projects like this.he said.” Last year no less than 93 pieces of graffiti were removed.”
Cllr Nippy Singh, Cabinet member for Partnerships commented:” This is a great example of a project run by the community safety team to help the victims of crime and the neighbourhoods in which they live.”
