PubWatch - Fleet:SAFE
The Fleet:SAFE concept has as its aim:
“To improve the night time economy of Fleet by reducing violent crime, anti-social behavior andcreating a safe environment”
The concept provides a coordinated approach to improving Fleet Town Centre in the evening.
The project will seek to deliver the following objectives:
- To work in partnership with the licensed trade to improve the management of licensed premises
- To promote the provision of safe drinking
- To reduce the number of alcohol related incidents in the town centre
- To reduce the perception of drunkenness, rowdiness and disorder
- To improve dispersal from the town centre and therefore reduce the potential for disorder
- To reduce the number of serious assaults in the town centre
- To improve the physical environment of the town centre
- To reduce anti-social behavior
Key measures for the Fleet:SAFE concept are:
- To reduce violent crime
- To reduce alcohol related incidents
- To maintain spending in the town centre leisure based economy at 2002/2003 levels
- To identify and reduce public nuisance and enhance public safety
