Think Safe was a new project for the Community Safety Team for 2008, although this has been run in the past and is still run in other authorities.
Groups of 10 – 11 year olds (year 6) are taken through a number of scenarios facilitated by a number of agencies, with the main focus on safety. These include, fire safety, stranger danger, ASB, rail safety, road safety and more.
The children are debriefed at the end of their day and given an information pack to take away with them reminding of the key information they have learnt.
All local schools are invited to take part in this initiative and a coach is provided through sponsorship.
The next Think Safe event will run from 13th - 21st June 2011.
