LIFE

LIFE is a 5 day course held at Rushmoor Fire Station, the purpose of which is to teach young people the consequences of their behaviour through hard-hitting messages, and active participation.  Subjects covered include arson and car crime.

Young people are provided with their own uniform for the week, which they are responsible for. They are provided with transport and two meals a day to ensure they have the strength to carry out the physical activity, as many parents are unable to provide this.

The LIFE course encourages teamwork, and increases self-esteem, confidence and discipline.

The Community Safety Team makes referrals on behalf of partner agencies to the course and has seen an improvement in behaviour as a result of this.

LIFE closes with a pass out parade which is used to demonstrate to parents what their child has learnt.

The next course is planned for 4th - 8th October 2010.
