Get With
Get With is a free school holiday programme for young people aged 13 – 16.
Get With aims to combat anti-social behaviour by giving young people exciting alternatives for their leisure time.
The scheme offers learning experiences which are relevant but not curriculum-based and where the emphasis is on activity and involvement. The scheme provides role models and opportunities for building relationships with different professional adults, in the hope that the experience will be inspirational and motivating for the young people.
The Community Safety Team supports the project by assisting in the planning process, providing staff for the event and facilitating activities.
In 2007 there was a 33% reduction in criminal damage over the summer period.
